Some simple design tools
The following tools are based on javascript and are designed to run in your browser. Each is a single file that can be saved to your desk top.
Colour tester and converter
Gives the opportunity to compare 4 coloured backgrounds side by side with different coloured text. Enter values as percent, totals out of 255 or hexadecimal and the equivalent hex values are given. colorcomp.htm 8kb. Right-click over the link to save yourself a copy (save target as..).

Tile tester with browse facility
See how your images look when a texture is used as a tiled background. Compare two tiles side by side. With browse facility to enable you to browse your hard disk for images in other folders. Styles tester with browse facility

Xara shapes
The following zip files contain individual Xara files which when unzipped to appropriately named folders can be linked to the Xara X clip art gallery in the normal way: Common shapes: shapes.zip 148 kb, repeating shapes: repshapes.zip 130 kb, and mould envelopes: moulds.zip 43 kb.
